Subjective mental health was assessed within the EE
using one single item at measurement point 1 and four items at
Times 2 to 4. Participants were asked to answer those questions on a
five-point-scale equivalent to German school grades. If participants
were not able to apply the five-point scale, a simplified
three-point-scale (2 - 4) was used. The suffixes to the variables
indicate whether the simplified scale was used ( = 1) or not (= 2).
Identical were also used in the Final
Questionnaire.

According to the design, EE variable names for Time 1 have
the prefix z1,names for Time 2 have the prefix z2,
names for Times 3 have the prefix z3, names for Time 4 have the

prefix z7.
